Proud to Support generationYOU

On Friday April 8 I will be chairing the Brisbane hosting of generationYOU – a one day event designed to help Millennials as they launch their careers.

The range of speakers I’ll be introducing is impressive, including Stephen Phillips from Mawson Robotics (ex Twitter) and Cat Matson from City of Brisbane, plus some great people I’ve shared the stage with before like Jock Fairweather from Little Tokyo Two and Russ Vine from Ogilvy.

I’m personally on the cusp of Gen X and being a Millennial – it’s certainly the case that you can stereotype everyone based on age, but there’s a lot more complexity to any individual. Just as John Lennon and Bob Dylan inspired the Baby Boomers despite being a few years ahead of them in age, so too I look forward to sharing my experience in starting a career and an international business with 100+ 20-somethings looking to make the world their oyster.

Make sure you follow me on Twitter or check out the hashtag #genYOU on the day.

Two weeks later, generationYOU will be on the road in Melbourne, with Adelaide and Sydney dates planned for later this year.

Congrats to the organisers and all involved. If you’d like to learn more about kickstarting your career – whether you’re already working, or still studying – I look forward to seeing you there.
