Hiring Your First Team Member

Zero to One is the First Black Hole

DATELINE: SINGAPORE

Happy Friday

Given I worked from 21 different countries in 2019, leaving my first 2023 international trip until December is a little unusual!

But having pioneered remote business coaching more than a decade ago, when Skype was cutting edge, I’m used to blending work and travel as part of my life rhythm.

So I will be away from Australia for the next 4 weeks, enjoying a humid Christmas with my family – and still delivering some coaching work for my clients. Expect a slower pace of email responses, and feel good adding your name to the obligation-free Coaching Waitlist to prioritise a meeting in February.

1. Blackboard Fridays Episode #38 – Hiring Your First Team Member

Most Blackboard Fridays episodes are pitched at business owners with a team, but did you know the median average business in Australia (and similarly in the UK and USA where I also work) has zero employees?

The jump from no staff to your first recruit can be a significant one.

So how do you know when the time is right, and how do you prepare your business (and yourself) to make that leap?

Watch and enjoy this week’s video here.

PS: Do you know a solopreneur business owner who’s considering recruitment in the new year? Forward them this email to help!

With love,
